Sept 06, 2001 [XPd]Hydra! =============================================================================== --= Check out my new mod that I'm working on - Explosive Q3! =-- --= (Class Based CTF, new weapons, new maps, it's all good!) =-- Visit... _ _ _ _ _ _ _ |_| \/ | \ |_\ |_\ /_ _ \ / / \ |_\ | | \ www.| | / |_/ | \ | | _/ \/\/ \_/ | \ |__ |_/.com =============================================================================== Title : Arctic Deception MapFilename : ACTF33.bsp Filenames : maps/ACTF33.bsp (mapfile) maps/ACTF33.aas (botdata) levelshots/ACTF33.* (levelshot) scripts/ACTF33.arena (arena script) scripts/ACTF33.shader (shader script) textures/ACTF33/*.* (texture files) Author : Dominic "Hydra" Clifton Web Site : www.hydras-world.com <-- get more maps here!!! Map Type : CTF 6-16 players Plays best with two teams of 4 to 6. Map description : A large CTF map in a clean tech style, set in an arctic terrain. The map features two identical bases, each with multiple entrances. THIS IS THE NORMAL VERSION OF THE MAP. See my web-site for the team-arena version of the map Gameplay : Seems pretty good so far, captures are hard to get because of the base layout, but I like playing maps that provide at least some challenge to all the players. That's not to say that base defense is easy though. Notes : BSPC reports a leak when there isn't one, this problem has been reported as a bug. To get round this problem the entire map has been enclosed on a giant caulk hull. Not an ideal solution as bspc takes longer to compile the AAS because of it but hey, at least you can play the map with bots! There is 100% definatly nothing strucutrally wrong with the area that bspc complains about. Just if you were thinking I had bad mapping skillz. ;-) Update: MrElusive has found the bug and fixed it, but I'm still waiting for the new version of BSPC to be made available. The bots won't follow you from the cave into the lower part of the room just off from the cave areas. I've no idea why, but one thing's for certain, it's go nothing to do with large reachability areas (they're all <518) and the area is not "solid" to the bots. What is weird is that they will follow you upwards, but not downwards. When I changed the size of one room they started following me down there, so I changed the other room to be the same size (making no other changes) and then they stopped following me down there again. Nothing I can do about this until the new BSPC is out. Thanks to : id software, without you guys this would not exist Mad Props to : Sundown & MEet-CEes for their continued apprecation of my maps :) Mr Fantastic, Tequila for some great comments and help. BeyondDeath and all the AllianceCTF testers (I want *more* feedback dammit!) Sedric, Weasel, Quakin', K-RuzH, BlaZeD, PigPen and All the other beta testers. (Let me know if I've missed your name from the list!) The people on the quake3world level editing forums, especially those that put up with my mad ranting about making alphamaps and getting my clusterportals working. Everyone in #qeradiant IBM, for making a laptop that I can actually run Q3 on, albeit at a lowly 25FPS. :-) LvL for a great level review/pimping site. DjBob, for the great GTKRadiant plugin: Bobtoolz and the great Q3Terra tool. And no, I don't worship you like you seem to think, but I do like your tool. :-) Paul Jaquays and Mr Elusive from iD for providing great manuals, tools and support via the q3W Forum. GNU for making totally cool powder snowboards! You, for reading this text!
